FAQs Carimar Beach Club

See the list of frequently asked questions below.

Q: Is Carimar a hotel or a condo?
A: Carimar is a hotel with the “feel” of a condo. We are fortunate enough to offer our guests large “Home Away From Home” accommodations with 1100 square feet of living space, a large living room, a dining room that accommodates six persons, a fully-equipped kitchen, two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a lanai or balcony, and free wireless internet and flat-screen TV. You can reserve your space directly through the front desk reservations at 866-270-3764 or through your local travel agent.
Q: Does Carimar have a swimming pool?
A: Carimar does not have a swimming pool on-site, however, the water in front of Carimar is so blue and clear that it has been called “the world’s biggest swimming pool.”
Q: Does Carimar have a restaurant?
A: Carimar does not have a restaurant on property. However, the best value beach bars are right next door. To the left is Blanchard’s Beach Shack and to the right is the newly opened Malliouhana’s Leon’s Beach Bar. In addition, we have several five-star restaurants next door or within walking distance on the beach – The famous five-star Blanchard’s Restaurant is right next to Carimar, and Jacala and Straw Hat are a short walk down the beach. The world-class Cafe Celeste at Malliouhana is right next door on the east side of Carimar. Click here for a comprehensive restaurant listing as well as many online menus. Every Carimar villa has a fully-equipped kitchen with dishes, glassware, silverware, appliances, full refrigerator, range, microwave, blender, and more. The Best Buy Supermarket is located right up the road and has everything you will need for in-room meals including beer, wine, and spirits. The dining room accommodates six people – perfect for families with children. You can also enjoy delicious meals and beverages delivered to your villa by the fabulous Geraud's Catering -  everything from breakfasts to desserts.
Q: Are there any other budget and/or family restaurants nearby?
A: There are several budget and family-friendly restaurants close to Carimar. One is the aforementioned Blanchard’s Beach Shack. B&D’s BBQ is a favorite within walking distance up the road and Ocean Echo (moderately priced) is down the beach to the west.

Picante’s Mexican taqueria up the road is also a family favorite. There are also several five-star restaurants within walking distance from Carimar including Jacala, Blanchards Restaurant, Straw Hat, and the Restaurant at Malliouhana. Click here for a comprehensive list with menus.

Please consult our Dining page for information on restaurants available “In-Bubble” during the quarantine.
Q: Does Carimar have air conditioning?
A: All units have air conditioning in the living areas and the bedrooms. Most of our guests have commented that they do not use air conditioning during the day as the trade winds blow beautiful cooling breezes through every villa. Our guests prefer opening up the sliders and windows to take advantage of these breezes and prefer not to shut themselves inside. Anguilla’s average temperature is 80F degrees. Northeastern trade winds keep the island relatively cool and dry. In the summer months, as with any destination near the equator, there can be a sultry day, so take advantage of the “biggest swimming pool in the world” right at your feet.

Q: Does Carimar have a fitness center?
A: Carimar has a new fitness center with cardiovascular and strength training equipment, a universal, free weights, stretching and yoga equipment, and a full bathroom with shower.

Q: Does Carimar have on-site water sports?
A: Since 2021, Carimar has a small selection of paddle boards and kayaks on site for their guests. The usage is free of charge (small set-up fee of US$ 5.00). Next to Carimar is a large water sports outpost where you can book many more watersports activities.
In addition, Carimar gives our guests free use of snorkel equipment, and our “Carimar Caring” Concierge will gladly procure water sports services for you – including boat charters, sailing cruises, snorkeling, and diving trips, kite surfing, water skiing, tubing, etc

Q: Does Carimar offer tennis?
A: Carimar has two championship tennis courts on-site with free equipment to use.

Q: Is there grocery shopping nearby?
A: Best Buy opened a large grocery store right up the road within a fifteen-minute walk. You can purchase anything from groceries to wine, beer, and spirits. Contact the front desk at least two weeks ahead of your visit if you would like your refrigerator stocked with essentials upon your arrival.

Q: Is the water rough or calm?
A: The water in front of Carimar is very calm – see the photo above. However, like every Caribbean island, there are occasional storms out at sea that can churn up some waves on the island. On rare days when the red flag is up, the beaches on the south side of the island tend to be calm. This works both ways – when the south side of the island is rough, Carimar is usually calm.

Q: Can we fit five or six people in a two-bedroom villa or three people in a one-bedroom villa?
A: For a two-bedroom villa, the bedding is one king bedroom with en-suite bathroom AND one bedroom with two twin beds and a bathroom across the hall. For a one-bedroom villa, the bedding is one king bedroom with en-suite bathroom OR one bedroom with two twin beds and a bathroom across the hall. In the twin bedroom, the beds may remain separate or can be pushed together. Please let the reservations group know your preference upon booking the villa. Please note that if you book a one-bedroom villa, the second bedroom and bathroom will remain closed during your stay.

A: We are so excited to share our newly renovated spa-like bathrooms. They are truly beautiful.
